Abstract
This essay analyzes the topics of poverty and global inequality from a philosophical perspective. While I revise the relationship between philosophical studies and poverty, the question is asked whether the notion of poverty can be considered a philosophical idea, similar to the concepts of development, capacities, equality and agency. The correlation between poverty and economic inequality is also discussed, and the existence of a robust correlation between both phenomena is denied. Lastly, I present four models for the interpretation of the relationship between poverty and global inequality, from the most simplistic to the holistic and complex
