Abstract

TITLE: Adult education in providing lay first aid in the historical context and in the present AUTHOR: Klára Špačková DEPARTMENT: Department of Education SUPERVISOR: PaedDr. Eva Marádová, CSc. ABSTRACT: The thesis deals with adult education in providing first aid. The theoretical part of the thesis is about development of amateur education in providing first aid, studies conditions, possibilities and attitude of adults towards self-education in providing lay first aid. The practical part of the thesis surveys a group of randomly chosen adults using questionnaire survey methodology to examine their motivation for self-education in providing first aid, factors influencing education of people in this field and to find both effective and underrated forms of adult education in first aid. The goal of the thesis is to map today's possibilities of self-education in first aid, to inquire people's and society's motivation for self-education in first aid and to analyze conditions for general education in this field. In the conclusion a recommendation for improvement of people's education in providing first aid is given. KEYWORDS: lay first aid, health, adult education, education
