Purpose: This study examined the creativity level of five year old children attending kindergarten in public or private schools under the Ministry of Education (M.E.B). Method: Sample of the study contained 96 children (46 girls, 50 boys) from private schools and 69 children (34 girls, 35 boys) from public schools, 165 children in total. Torrance Creative Thinking Test was administered to these children. "Independent Group T-Test" was used to see whether there are any differences in the creativity level of children depending on gender and the school type being attended. Results: Children from Konya and Kayseri had significantly higher creativity scores than those from Ystanbul and Sivas. In terms of school type, children attending private schools displayed higher creativity level than those attending public schools. Children of parents with bachelors and above degrees outperformed those whose parents had lower degrees of education. However, no significant difference was found in the creativity level of children according to the gender.Amaç: Çaly?manyn amacy, M.E.B'e ba?ly resmi ve özel okullaryn anasynyflaryna devam eden 5 ya?yndaki çocuklaryn yaratycylyk düzeylerinin incelenmesidir. Yöntem: Çaly?manyn örneklemi, özel okullaryn anasynyfyna devam eden 5 ya?yndaki çocuklardan 96 (46 kyz, 50 erkek), resmi okullaryn anasynyfyna devam eden 5 ya?yndaki çocuklardan 69 (34 kyz, 35 erkek) olmak üzere toplam 165 çocuktan olu?maktadyr. Çaly?mada Torrance Yaratycy Dü?ünme Testi uygulanmy?tyr. Bulgular: Çaly?manyn sonucunda, illere göre çocuklaryn yaratycylyk düzeylerinde Konya ve Kayseri ilinde bulunan özel okullar lehine anlamly bir farklylyk elde edilmi?tir. Okul türleri açysyndan incelendi?inde, özel okullarda bulunan çocuklaryn yaratycylyk düzeyleri ile devlet okullarynda bulunan çocuklaryn yaratycylyk düzeyleri arasynda özel okuldaki çocuklar lehine anlamly farklylyk görülmü?tür. Ebeveynlerin e?itim düzeylerinde ise lisans ve üzeri e?itim seviyesine sahip anne-babalar lehine fark elde edilirken, çocuklaryn cinsiyetleri arasynda anlamly bir farklylyk görülmemi?tir.
