Abstract
1. Letter dated 2 April 1927 from Ethel Long in Lintsing to Edith Tallmon, noting she sent items to Edith to sell and raise money; Consul at Tsinan has told women and children to get to Tientsin at once, as unrest in the country makes it difficult for foreigners; concern about looting by soldiers after they leave; Ethel may go home and others have already departed; 2. Letter of April 1927 from Emery Ellis to "Mabel" (Huggins?) begun 10 April 1927 at Tehchow and continued 13 April at Lien-chen, as the Ellises depart for Tientsin, where they will learn what they will do next; other missionaries leaving Shantung Province; 3. Letter dated 18 April 1927 from Isabelle Phelps of the American Board Mission at Paotingfu to "Mabel" (Huggins?), noting Mabel and Grace [Breck?]'s imminent departure from China and mentioning her own expected departure; some Chinese will prefer less foreigners, while others are anxious and want them to stay; 4. Letter dated 11 July 1927 from Benjamin F. Sargent, husband of Susan Tallmon Sargent, to her father (George) and sister (Hester Tallmon) at Morgan Hill, commenting on farming life, the Montesano cottage, and plans to go to Saratoga and Asilomar
