Enhancing Student Morality Through Religious Extracurricular Activities in the COVID-19 Pandemic Era: A Case Study in Elementary Schools in Bogor CityPurpose – This study examines improving student morality through religious extracurricular activities during the COVID-19 pandemic in Bogor City, West Java elementary schools. Design/methods/approach – Employing a case study method, this research was conducted at SDN Empang 02, Bogor City. Data was collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Data analysis was performed interactively and reflectively to ensure validity through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability criteria. Findings – The findings indicate a significant improvement in students' morality at SDN Empang 02 Bogor during the COVID-19 pandemic. The religious extracurricular program, focusing on developing students' talents and interests, has been effectively planned, organized, implemented, and supervised. Research implications – This study provides new insights into the importance of religious extracurricular activities in shaping student morality, especially in the context of the pandemic. These findings emphasize the need for a comprehensive and integrated approach to education, focusing on academic aspects and developing students' morality and character.

Confucianism Embodied: An “Interdisciplinary” Approach to Comparative Political PhilosophyThis article articulates and defends an “interdisciplinary” approach to Confucian political theory and presents Confucianism as a living, dynamic entity rather than merely a reservoir of ideas contained within a set of texts. It argues for a methodology that transcends traditional textual analysis, advocating for an intersectional approach that melds normative, emancipatory, and practical dimensions. This approach seeks to capture the evolving essence of Confucianism as influenced by cultural, institutional, and individual interactions. It also promotes a “distant reading” to examine not only texts and historical debates but also institutional changes, power dynamics, and guiding principles within Confucianized societies. The study highlights the need to recognize how Confucian ideals are manifested in real history and politics and emphasizes the importance of studying the social embodiment of the political ideas in comparative political theory.

PANDANGAN EKONOMI ISLAM TERHADAP JUAL BELI MELALUI MARKETPLACE ONLINE SHOPEEThe background to this research is that the online marketplace Shopee is an online shopping platform that focuses more on user convenience, safety, fun and practicality by integrating social platforms. However, as times become increasingly modern, the business world increasingly tends to ignore ethics. In fact, growing competition leads to conflicting practices such as fraud, lies, non-conforming goods. Just because to get as much profit as possible. The aim of this research is to find out how buying and selling in the Shopee online marketplace and buying and selling through the Shopee online marketplace according to a review of Islamic business ethics. In this research the author used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques in this research are data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The location of this research is the online marketplace Shopee in Palembang City. The results of this research are that the Shopee online marketplace provides good service for its users and allows its users to shop anytime and anywhere, as long as there are facilities to access the internet. In Islamic business practices and economics are very closely related to Islamic creeds and sharia so that a person will not understand the Islamic view of economics and business without properly understanding creeds and Islam. Then the principles of honesty and accuracy are in line with the principle of truth, the principle of loyalty is in line with the principle of justice, and the principle of discipline is in line with the principle of responsibility. So it can be said that the principles of business ethics are in place and in line with the principles of Islamic business ethics. Trust is important for consumers, it is hoped that sellers can increase consumer trust and can improve the quality of content and services provided. For consumers, before carrying out online buying and selling transactions, it is best to dig deeper or look for as clear information as possible regarding the product specifications offered by the seller. For future researchers, it is recommended to take more samples, this aims to have better data accuracy in their research.

Carreras militantes: Comunidades católicas y formación de los sujetos en ArgentinaEl presente artículo propone un abordaje del fenómeno del crecimiento de las comunidades en el seno de las grandes familias religiosas. La tensión que las comunidades enfrentan entre el polo de la afirmación identitaria y el polo de la inclusión dentro de los límites fijados por la tradición religiosa constituye al grupo mismo. Los rituales, las estructuras educativas, los discursos creados por las comunidades católicas expresan esta tensión. En este artículo trabajaré con tres tipos de comunidades católicas en Argentina, centrándome en los recorridos que los fieles realizan para entrar en los grupos, y en las estructuras educativas informales que las comunidades establecen para sociabilizar a los nuevos miembros en los valores y las normas del grupo.

Die Tschechische Bischofskonferenz gegenüber neuen AufforderungenDie Erarbeitung der Äußerungen der Tschechischen Bischofskonferenz, besonders ihrer Pastoralbriefen, macht sichtbar, dass damit oft klares Wort zu neuen Aufforderungen gegeben wird. Die thematische Analyse zeigt deutliche Teilung der Äußerungen: zuerst die Äußerungen mit innerkirchlichen Bedeutung, zweitens innerkirchliche Äußerungen mit Überstieg in die zivile Gesellschaft, und drittens die an zivile Gesellschaft gezielten Äußerungen. Zum Unterschied mit den innerkirchlichen Aussagen, die an die zivile Gesellschaft gezielte Äußerungen haben größeres Echo und Bedeutung für öffentliche Meinung gefunden. Im Laufe der Jahren zeigte sich, dass es in den innerkirchlichen Fragen anpassender ist, die Subsidiarität mehr zu betonen, und umgekehrt in den gesellschaftlichen Fragen die Zentralisation vorzuziehen.

Neoliberalismo, globalización y filosofía socialEste trabajo empieza mostrando que la utopía, la cual no es más que una representación imaginaria de una sociedad en la que se habría realizado el ideal humanista secular de la personalidad libre y autónoma, es inviable y necesaria como criterio direccional para la crítica del proceso de globalización. Introduce en segundo término una concepción filosófica que reconoce la nomicidad del mundo (su sujeción a leyes naturales y normas supraarbitrarias de diferentes tipos), para mostrar que el proceso de integraciónmundial está impulsando por dicha nomicidad, si bien distorsionado debido a una relativa desobediencia a la misma. Concluye con una apreciación de dicho proceso pero también con la exigencia de poner en vigor ciertas normas de desarrollo histórico que lo dirijan por una senda más equilibrada y justa.

Leadership style in Swiss evangelical churches in the light of their historically shaped leadership cultureThis article is a sociological-historical study of the inter-relation between the historically developed leadership culture of democracy and leadership practice in the evangelical churches of Switzerland. Contemporary Swiss leadership style is based on the cultural inheritance of the Celts, the Romans and the Germanic tribes, the foundation of the Confederation, as well as the history of Christianity. The core values that shaped Swiss leadership culture are the idea that not too much power should vest in the individual, that there should be a democratic right of co-determination, that there should be federal freedom, and that work and achievement are very important. These same basic values still affect leadership in Swiss evangelical congregations today.

Implementation of the Application of Islamic Business Ethics in Increasing Customer Satisfaction and Business SustainabilityThis research aims to analyze how Islamic business ethics are applied to the Lancar Jaya duck egg business and its impact on customer satisfaction and business sustainability. The research method will use a qualitative descriptive approach that utilizes interview and observation techniques. This research shows that the application of the principles of Islamic business ethics in the form of honesty, trust, fairness, and responsibility in daily business practices will positively impact customer satisfaction and business sustainability. These principles are applied in various operational aspects, from production to marketing, which include providing accurate information, maintaining product quality, and establishing good relationships with business partners. This study confirms that Islamic business ethics are important from a moral perspective and an effective business strategy. For sustainability, it is recommended that the Lancar Jaya duck egg business continue to integrate the principles of Islamic business ethics, improve communication with consumers and business partners, and optimize product quality and employee training.

Rudimental Principles of Interaction in The Holy Qur’an: Surah Al-Hujraat as Case StudyThe way in which people interact and address one another is crucial to expressing their social relationship; it encodes the relationship between interlocutors and reflects cultural values. Proper use of words in addressing a fellow or people strengthens peaceful coexistence among individuals and groups within and outside a given cultural setting. On the contrary, the unguarded use of words has been the primary cause of conflicts and disharmony around the world. The Holy Qur'an, as a divine revelation and guide from the Almighty, advocates good social relationships through speech and encourages respect for individual differences through words. At the same time, it warns against aggressive and unhealthy language. This present study examines the principles of communication and interaction contained in Surah Al-Hujraat (Qur’an, chapter 49) as a tool for a peaceful and harmonious relationship among individuals and groups. The study adopts the qualitative content analysis approach to analyze the chapter's extracted verses. The findings of the study reveal that the chapter provides some rudimental principles of interaction that promote the language of respect, and peaceful communication among individuals and groups in the society that enhance interpersonal relationships, regardless of race, color, rank, or tribe. Cara orang berinteraksi dan menyapa satu sama lain sangat penting untuk mengekspresikan hubungan sosial mereka; itu mengkodekan hubungan antara lawan bicara dan mencerminkan nilai-nilai budaya. Penggunaan kata-kata yang tepat dalam menyapa sesama atau orang lain memperkuat koeksistensi damai di antara individu dan kelompok di dalam dan di luar lingkungan budaya tertentu. Sebaliknya, penggunaan kata-kata yang tidak dijaga telah menjadi penyebab utama konflik dan ketidakharmonisan di seluruh dunia. Al-Qur'an Suci, sebagai wahyu ilahi dan panduan dari Yang Mahakuasa, menganjurkan hubungan sosial yang baik melalui ucapan dan mendorong penghormatan terhadap perbedaan individu melalui kata-kata. Pada saat yang sama, ia memperingatkan terhadap bahasa yang agresif dan tidak sehat. Kajian ini mendalami prinsip-prinsip komunikasi dan interaksi yang terkandung dalam Surah Al-Hujraat (Al-Qur'an, bab 49) sebagai alat untuk hubungan yang damai dan harmonis antara individu dan kelompok. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan analisis isi kualitatif untuk menganalisis ayat-ayat yang disarikan dari bab tersebut. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa surah ini memberikan beberapa prinsip dasar interaksi yang mempromosikan bahasa hormat, dan komunikasi damai antara individu dan kelompok dalam masyarakat yang meningkatkan hubungan interpersonal, terlepas dari ras, warna kulit, pangkat, atau suku.

Informal institutions and radical ideologies under institutional transformationThis article questions one of the central postulates of institutional economic theory, i.e., that of the sustainability and purely evolutionary changes of informal institutions. To study the phenomenon of the destruction of informal institutions and its consequences, we use the tools of sociological theory, which acknowledge that a period of intensive urbanization is characterized by anomie, i.e., a lack of norms, in which traditional institutions are destroyed, while new urban institutions have not yet taken shape. We reviewed the possible reactions of communities and individuals to the conditions of anomie, including the compensatory mechanisms of ideologies. In the case of the Dagestan Republic, we show how the proliferation of fundamentalist Islamic ideology is associated with the state of anomie and the consequences to which it could lead from an institutional point of view. The analysis of the situation in Dagestan is based on long-term field research conducted in the region.

Explaining Unfavorable Attitudes Toward Religious Out-Groups Among Three Major ReligionsConsidering intensifying sectarian conflicts in recent years and increasing interreligious violence around the globe, there is a need to further our understanding of negative attitudes toward religious out-groups. To investigate the driving factors behind these negative attitudes among members of the three major Abrahamic religions, I employ original data derived from a survey fielded among 10,046 respondents in eight countries (Cyprus, Germany, Israel, Kenya, Lebanon, Palestine, Turkey, and the USA). A rich body of literature documents the relationship between religious fundamentalism and prejudice. Other scholars have investigated out-group hostility using an intergroup relations perspective, focusing on contact theory, and more recently, on discrimination. While controlling for other relevant factors such as demographic and socioeconomic variables, I investigate the role of religiosity and intergroup relations in explaining unfavorable interreligious attitudes. The results suggest that unfavorable attitudes toward religious out-groups are most strongly associated with religious fundamentalism. This finding is robust across religious groups.

Dios contra césar o las metamorfosis del catolicismo brasileño bajo el régimen militar (1964-1985)En los últimos treinta años, la Iglesia católica brasileña y, particularmente su conferencia episcopal (CNBB), ha conocido una evolución espectacular. Durante este periodo, pueden identificarse tres fases. Hasta la mitad de los anos 50 predomina un inmovilismo conservador. Luego, hasta 1964, surge una voluntad de reformismo social en el agro. Finalmente, después de una breve fase de aprobación de la "revolución redentora" dirigida por los militares, en 1964 la iglesia católica se transforma en un actor prominente del combate democrático. Este artículo pretende analizar estas fases sucesivas.

Japanese Philosophy as the Result of History of the National Spiritual TraditionThis article explores the essence of Japanese philosophy, which has evolved through the convergence of various intellectual traditions, including Shintoism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism. These spiritual foundations have deeply influenced Japanese self-perceptions, societal relations, and governance structures. Employing a dialectical method combined with the principle of complementarity, this study examined the development of Japanese philosophy, particularly during the Meiji (1868-1912) and Taisho (1912-1925) periods, highlighting the integration of Western philosophical ideas. Key contributions from thinkers such as Nishida Kitaro, who sought to merge Western concepts with Eastern traditions, are discussed. This study also emphasizes the importance of traditional Japanese arts and bodily synthesis in shaping philosophical thought. The unique ability of Japanese philosophy to adapt and transform diverse intellectual traditions is a central theme, illustrating its capacity to generate new meanings and approaches. The continuous influence of medieval categories and modern developments showcases a holistic approach that integrates both old and new perspectives. This adaptability is crucial in addressing contemporary issues such as the interaction between information culture and historical spiritual traditions. The study concludes that the flexibility and integrative nature of Japanese philosophy, exemplified by figures such as Nishida Kitaro and Imamichi Tomonobu, remain vital for contemporary philosophical discourse.

The family according to the church social doctrine and the social politics of the"New State"Within the wider universe of relationships between the Catholic Church and the State during the Getulio Vargas dictatorship, the article intends to demonstrate the identification of interests between these two divisions of power for the fulfillment of their own aims, using as object of analysis the problem of the family and, as a consequence, of women and their children. The fulfillment of the"New State" and Catholic Church projects was subordinated, to a large extent, to the maintenance of social order and social stability, through the discipline of the family, conceived as the foundation of society.

A luta por hegemonia do PT entre os movimentos sociais: uma análise crítica do Movimento Nacional da Fé e Política no período dos governos Lula e Dilma RousseffNo Brasil e na América Latina de forma geral, ocorreu um processo que foi crucial para a formação de uma nova cultura política, que põe em questão a propriedade privada, nos marcos da autocracia burguesa a partir da década de 1960, as lutas anticapitalistas mediadas pela relação entre fé e política, que tem origem no atavismo da “esquerda católica”. A fé na periferia do mundo se tornou através deste sujeito histórico, fermento para a construção da teologia latino-americana – a Teologia da Libertação. Impulsionada pela práxis libertadora de intelectuais cristãos, associada aos movimentos sociais, tal teologia se constitui em instrumento de análise para interpretar a luta de classes no continente. O Movimento Nacional de Fé e Política, é o objeto de análise dessa pesquisa sobre os meios de construção de hegemonia dos governos do PT, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva e Dilma Rousseff (2003-2016). O objetivo central desta tese foi analisar como estes intelectuais acompanharam os governos de esquerda no Brasil. A metodologia aplicada consistiu em pesquisa documental e entrevistas semi-estruturadas, as quais foram realizadas em 2017 e 2018, com um total de 15 intelectuais cristãos que participaram da fundação do referido movimento e ativistas das lutas sociais no Brasil. Aponta-se como conclusões que diante do alinhamento do governo e do setor dirigente do PT à ordem burguesa, a práxis libertadora dos intelectuais cristãos passou por um momento de reflexão crítica, imbuída na crise da militância de esquerda, entretanto seguiu comprometida com as lutas anticapitalistas e por direitos e justiça social, coerente com seu caráter histórico e universal. Os dados mostram que a auto-crítica foi fundamental para a retomada do trabalho do movimento com as bases, na articulação com os movimentos sociais e com as novas configurações das expressões da questão social, como a extrema pobreza, a depredação da natureza e das florestas em benefício do agronegócio
