La conservazione della memoria digitale. Questioni metodologiche e giuridiche

Abstract

Thesis about situation of the digital preservation and analysis of the present tools available to confront the responsibility of the preservation of this property and to guarantee their public access in the time. The search, beginning from a reflection of base on the concepts of preservation/conservation of the digital resources, with the different approaches of Librarians and Archivists and the interest interdisciplinary, introduces criteria and strategies of collection, some projects, studies and international initiatives, some examples of systems for the long term preservation of the digital resources from 1996 at today, internationals and in Europe. About the legal matters they confront themselves the author's rights, the legal deposit and the institutional and university repositories, particularly in new law in Italy. These are the arguments of the three chapters of the study: the multidisciplinary aspect of the problem; methods, policies of preservation, nets and models of deposit of the digital resources; Web archiving, systems and criteria of collection for the Web the sites of preservation; sources and international discussions of reference; initiatives and international projects (e.g. Internet Archive, Nordic Web Archive, PANDORA and PADI in Australia, PARADIGMA in Norway) and in European Union; author's rights, copyright and copyleft, Legal Deposit, institutional repositories in Italian Universities, PhD and Master thesis.
