The aim of the article is to present the conception of the Corporate Social Responsibility in the insurance services. In the article the expectations of stakeholders and the most important areas of the use of CSR in insurance institutions are identified. The article also presents the basic relationships between socially responsible activities realized by insurance institutions and their image. Audits in the article were conducted on the base of the analysis of the literature and various source materials related to the social responsibility of the business. Moreover, the article identifies some basic differences in functioning of the responsible business in the USA and the European Union. Finally, it gives some examples of social responsible activity on the Polish insurance services market. On the basis of research conducted in the present article it is possible to indicate the implications consisting of the necessity of the intensification of the socially responsible activity of insurance institutions.Date
