Abstract
The present study consists in reconstructing the school itineraries of a group of students of public high schools in the Puerto Montt city, Chile, frequent consumers of alcohol and / or drugs. Through the ethnographic analysis and the hermeneutical revision of institutional documents, carried out in the school context, we propose the nomenclature of School Social Adaptation Difficulties (SSAD) to refer to those students who fail in their passage through formal education centers, due to their Low social and cultural capital, but also to the little or no attention given by the centers themselves to those young people who present adaptive complexities within the framework of the school culture. Likewise, we propose that the DASE need specialized attention with educators trained for this purpose.
