Uwagi o recepcji twórczości pedagogicznej Johna Locke'a w Polsce z perspektywy pedagogiki filozoficznej

Abstract

Tekst prezentuje recepcję twórczości pedagogicznej Johna Locke’a w Polsce z perspektywy pedagogiki filozoficznej. W tym celu autor zestawia ze sobą dwa tłumaczenia Some Thoughts concerning Education, jedno z XVIII wieku, drugie z pierwszej połowy XX wieku. Następnie proponuje, by dołączyć do analizy kolejny tekst Locke’a, Of the Conduct of the Understanding. W polskiej pedagogice jest to praca nieczęsto przywoływana. Poszerzenie recepcji twórczości pedagogicznej Locke’a o ten tekst staje się możliwe i uzasadnione, o ile się ją bada jako koncepcję edukacji człowieka. W takim ujęciu z tekstów pedagogicznych Locke’a można wyczytać zarówno myśl o wychowaniu i kształceniu dzieci i młodzieży, jak i wskazania dotyczące używania rozumu skierowane do dorosłych bez względu na wiek i wykształcenie.

Text presents the reception of John Locke’s educational writings from the perspective of philosophy of education in Poland. To this purpose author compares two translations of Some Thoughts concerning Education, one from XVIII century and the second from the first part of XX century. Then proposes to add to the analyses Locke’s next work, Of the Conduct of the Understanding which is not frequently cited in Polish pedagogy. Extension of Locke’s educational writings of this work becomes possible and reasonable so far as they are all explored as a concept of the education of man. In this approach on Locke’s educational writings one can read not only thought of upbringing of children and youth, but also indications concerning the conduct of the understanding addressed to adults regardless of age and school degrees.
