Abstract
This paper introduces the International Olympic Committee Ethics Commission created after the revelation of the scandalous selection of Salt Lake City for the organisation of the Olympic Winter Games. Although recently founded, this commission plays an ever increasing role in the olympic movement. From a description of its rules and activities over the last five years, insights are gained to better understand the evolution of sport ethics at an international level and its growing influence on the governance of world sport.
