Abstract
In this article, the author claims that the issues surrounding the redistribution of wealth on the international scale are the issues confronting democracy. She examines Kymlicka’s thesis, according to which the democratic form par excellence is the linguistico-territorial national political community. This thesis opposes the cosmopolitical arguments according to which the sphere for participation, deliberation and accountability should and must be expanded to larger scales, at least for certain issues and aspects of social life.
