Abstract
Special Education curriculum adaptations contribute to the development of assistive technologies and these give support to the inclusive education process. The education system, at different levels, must provide tools to ensure students with disabilities access to the curriculum. This research is a branch of the Extension Project "Resources, Adaptations and Assistive Technologies for Pupils with Special Needs" developed by the Special and Inclusive Education Center of UERJ with the purpose of constructing and validating an assistive technology to aid the teaching and learning of trees in Data Structure for students with visual impairment in order to encourage these individuals’ learning in the field of Computer Science. A literature review was carried out, and a model in relief was developed and validated for visually impaired computing students. The study reached its goal, since students could understand the concepts of trees and do the tasks they had been assigned.
As adaptações curriculares da Educação Especial contribuem para o desenvolvimento de tecnologias assistivas e estas para apoiar o processo de Educação Inclusiva. O sistema de ensino, em seus diferentes níveis, precisa ser capaz de fornecer ferramentas que garantam aos alunos com deficiência acesso ao currículo. Nosso trabalho é uma ramificação do Projeto de Extensão “Recursos, Adaptações e Tecnologias Assistivas para Educandos com Necessidades Especiais”, desenvolvido pelo Núcleo de Educação Especial e Inclusiva da UERJ, que teve a finalidade de construir e validar uma tecnologia assistiva para auxiliar no processo ensino-aprendizagem de Árvores em Estrutura de Dados para alunos com deficiência visual, visando favorecer a aprendizagem desses sujeitos no campo da Ciência da Computação. Foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica, construído e validado um modelo em relevo por aluno deficiente visual de computação. A pesquisa atingiu o seu objetivo, pois o aluno conseguiu entender os conceitos de árvores e realizar as tarefas elaboradas.
