Happy Milka: atividades assistidas por animais no contexto da gerontologia educativa

Relatório de Estágio do Mestrado em Ciências da Educação apresentado à Faculdade de Psicologia e de Ciências da Educação

O presente relatório diz respeito ao projeto e atividades desenvolvidas no Lar residencial Quinta Verde, entre 20 de setembro de 2017 e 17 de maio de 2018, no âmbito da unidade curricular de Estágio do 2º ano de Mestrado em Ciências da Educação na área de Educação e Formação de Adultos, da Faculdade de Psicologia e Ciências da Educação da Universidade de Coimbra. Este constitui um documento formal que descreve toda a nossa prática e respetiva fundamentação em contexto institucional. O objetivo principal da nossa intervenção consistiu na implementação de atividades assistidas por animais, onde se inclui a estimulação cognitiva e multissensorial das pessoas idosas residentes na resposta Social Lar Quinta Verde - Repouso e Lazer. O relatório encontra-se estruturado através de um enquadramento teórico, que aborda temas tais como: a Gerontologia Educativa no quadro da Educação Permanente e Formação de Adultos, o Envelhecimento, a Velhice, a Estimulação cognitiva, a Estimulação multissensorial, a Relação homem-animal, as Atividades Assistidas por Animais, e os Benefícios das Atividades Assistidas por animais nas pessoas idosas, seguido da caracterização da instituição, do projeto de estágio e das atividades desenvolvidas. This report presents the project and activities developed in the Residential Home Quinta Verde, from 20 september 2017 to 17 may 2018, as part of the curricular unit of Internship of the 2nd year of the Master’s Degree in Education Sciences, specialisation in Adult Education and Training. This is a formal document that describes our entire experience in the institutional context.The main objective of this work was the implementation of animal assisted activities, including cognitive and multisensory stimulation of elderly people living in Quinta Verde.This internship report includes as its main parts a theoretical framework, where the topics of Educational Gerontology in the context of Adult Education, Aging, Old Age, Cognitive Stimulation, Multisensory Stimulation, Man-animal Relationship, Animal-Assisted Activities, and the Benefits of Assisted Animal Activities in Elderly Persons, followed by characterization of the institution, the internship project and the activities carried out.
