Ikerketa garatzeko modua, lanean erabilitako metodologia eta ikerketaren helburuak ere adierazten ditut. Era berean, antolakuntza eta kultura sozialari buruzko zenbait oinarrizko kontu aipatzen ditut eztabaidarako. Alde batetik, biktimizatutako gizakiengan duten eragina; izan ere, ahultasun handiagoko edo txikiagoko baldintza sozialak edo euren eskubideen urraketa handiagoko edo txikiagoko baldintza sozialak zehazten dituzte. Bestetik, parte-hartze sozialerako ahalmenean ere badute eragina, zeinaren bidez biktimizazioa jasaten dutenei laguntzen zaien hortik ateratzen, birbiktimizazioa saihesten eta jasandako kalteak eragindako sufrimendua gutxitzen. Biktimei arreta emateko zerbitzu eta bulegoen kudeaketan politika neoliberalek izandako eraginaren zantzuak (zeinak tesian sakon aztertzen ditudan) ere ikusi ahalko ditugu.
[EN] In the present article, the author explains the reasons why she completed a gender-based PhD in the field of Victimology, and her motivation and starting position, based on her personal and professional experience regarding Victimology and the victimal reality. She also explains the way in which she has developed the research, the methodology applied, as well as her research’s goals. Furthermore, she presents some fundamental issues, concerning social organization and culture, for debate. Such issues affect, on the one hand, the human beings who are victimized, since they determine the social circumstances of greater or lesser vulnerability, or of the violation of their rights. On the other hand, they affect the capacity for social intervention in order to help those who have endured victimization out, to prevent further victimization and to mitigate their suffering –she unveils some of the consequences that neoliberal policies have had in terms of the management of Victim Assistance Services and Offices (which she analyses in depth in her thesis)–.

Victim-Blaming: A New Term for an Old TrendSchoellkopf, Julia Churchill (DigitalCommons@University of Rhode Island, 2012-05-22)Victim-blaming is a phenomenon that has been happening since at least the beginning of recorded history but has only recently been identified as a dynamic used to empower the criminal and maintain the status quo. Victim-blaming is perpetuated by sexism, the Just World Theory, cognitive biases, and the theories of self-blame. Victim-blaming occurs when the victim of a crime or abuse is held partly or entirely responsible for the actions committed against them. In other words, the victims are held accountable for the maltreatment they have been subjected to. Perpetrators of crimes for which they blame the victim commonly enjoy a privileged social status opposite the victim, and their blame typically involves use of stereotypical negative words.

Personal experiences of victims of violent crimes: an African perspectiveMokgatlhe, P. B.; Mpata, Modjadji Fletta (2011-02)This research focused on the personal experiences of both male and female victims of violent crimes. The aim of this research was to explore how indigenous Black South Africans understand and deal with victimisation. An African epistemology was used to help gain a deeper understanding of the experiences of the participants. Participants were recruited using purposive sampling strategy. Five participants were selected for this study. Data was collected using individual face-to-face semi-structured interviews. Based on the transcribed data, themes were extracted and analysed using content analysis. The results indicate that participants attributed varying meanings to their victimisation.
