Document ID: ch048Extract from a letter dated July 1, 1831 wherein John Thompson, Christian missionary living in the Cherokee Nation, gives an account of his second arrest. Thompson is arrested and marched for many miles to Camp Gilmer, Murray County, Georgia where he is briefly detained. He has a short conversation with Colonel Sanford and is told he is free to go.
