The large-scale religious resurgence since the 1960s has brought about all kinds of transnational religious phenomena and movements, and one of the most remarkable movements is the transnational missionary activities of various religions. The fast and robust growth of the contemporary missionary movements does not only facilitate the great redistribution of religions in the world, but also pose a serious challenge to our traditional views and theories regarding the foreign missions. Based on the new development of contemporary missionary movements and also the missiological studies in China, this paper attempts to propose a research scheme of a series of bridgings (such as bridging the gap between the old missiology and new missiology) to further our understanding of the global religious revivals in general and the contemporary missionary movements in particular.Date
