This report describes the reorganization of U.S. Strategic Air Defense forces that were transferred to Tactical Air Command on 1 Oct 79, forming the organization known as Air Defense, Tactical Air Command (ADTAC). Selected areas of the first five years of the history of the ADTAC Organization are reviewed. The history includes information on the reorganization, the organization and mission, personnel and equipment programs, and the training and inspection system of ADTAC forces.Date
