Abstract
AbstractBecause postcolonial theories lack a gender perspective, this article focuses on the methodological approach proposed by postcolonial feminisms, through one of its greatest representatives, Spivak, for the analysis of female otherness of a narrative genre with specific characteristics: colonial, from an Arab-Islamic context and written by women. The following pages are interested, first, to underline that women are also creators of colonial discourse although these are mostly accomplices of hegemonic power. Secondly, to denounce that the colonial narrative, reductionist and lover of big generalizations, offers an otherness confined to a female uniform mass instead of pursuing a more inclusive, plural and diverse women representation.
