The bearer of this letter, Samuel Lewis, has payment for the Oneidas, Tuscaroras and Stockbridge Indians in response to the request for compensation of losses (173b). Captain Hendrick will no longer be needed at the treaty with the Western Indians. In order to begin construction of the saw mill, 300 dollars will be given to James Dean.Includes a transcription.
