Answer to Johnson's charges (see 53b). (Is politely sarcastic.) Unaware that he was meddling in politics. Kanahgwaeseu's message is not to be regarded as representative of the tribe's sentiments. Was probably conceived in conjunction with Joseph Brant. Relates part of a speech from the Oneida Chiefs refuting the remarks of Kanahgwaeseu. Samuel Kirkland states that he did not cause any letters to be burned (a Johnson charge). Cooperates with the Episcopal missionaries. Will visit Guy Park soon.Letter writer: Samuel Kirkland, Letter recipient: Guy Johnson
