St Anne's Day - A Time to "Turn Home" for the Canadian Mi'kmaq Indians

Abstract

This paper describes the development of St Anne's festival, celebrated by the Mi'kmaq each year for centuries. It is a case study of a "space" where Indian traditions and Christianity btought by Catholic missionaries meet, clash and merge.
