This book examines the possibility of limited nuclear war as seen from a standpoint within political philosophy. The author places nuclear war in the context of the philosophy of war, describing historic theories and models of limited warfare, and then discussing nuclear age theories of limited warfare. He thus derives a conclusion, using philosophy not strategy, about the tenability of limited nuclear war, namely, that political philosophy does not provide for a theoretical difference between limited nuclear war and nuclear holocaust.Date
