Selection Criteria of Public for Account Opening: A Case Study of Islamic Banks in Pakistan

Banks have an immense role in deciding the economic fate of any state. The Strong banking system is vital for the growth of any country. The purpose of the study is to investigate the selection criteria of Islamic banking system for account opening. The population of the study was intended customers of Islamic banks in Lahore region, especially who are interested to establish his/her new bank account. The research instrument designed to collect the data from the selected sample by using convenient sampling technique. Data was collected and analysed through descriptive statistics, One-Sample T test and Independent Sample T-test using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences). The results show that people prefer banks have the number of branches, a wide range of products, low-cost products, easily approachability. Results also have shown, no significant difference in the selection criteria for Islamic banks among the customers based on GenderDate
