AbstractThis study investigates the existence of a professional military ethic and the validity of the military as a profession. Mandates regarding the training of ethics are reviewed as are current ethics training programs and other efforts. Evidence confirms the professional status of the military and points to the military's commitment to the concept of a professional military ethic. Conclusions and recommendations cite the need to add emphasis to existing policies and programs.
