Abstract
This paper wishes to defend the unity of Kant’s historical philosophy against those who reduces it to one single point of view. According to one point of view, history would be the continuous development of man’s moral disposition, while according to the other, it would be a political and juridical process. My intention is to present history as the place where a reconciliation between morality and politics can occur. As a medium between morality and politics, history would then appear as having an important pedagogical function regarding humanity. Through the establishment of therepublican State, history will develop a culture of liberty and autonomy that will help humanity to accomplish his moral goal : the edification of an ethical commonwealth.
