Abstract

The argument presented in the article serves to support the idea that there is no cognitive sense in revitalizing obsolete ethical concepts, including personalist ethics with its quadruple argument. The ethics of discourse is very well suited to contemporary challenges since its method of justifying norms and standards can provide a basis for consensus. The principle of discourse is also the projection of a social order which is focused on replacing combat and strategic operations by discussion and argument. In this sense, the same formal principle of discourse is normative and is the projection of an important moral form of coexistence, which allows one to feel secure in a social space that is equally accessible to everyone.
