Abstract
« The French were Right » The moral prestige and the political authority that France has acquired amongst public opinions and a few leaders of the world have several explanations. Nevertheless, it would be presumptuous to evaluate the impact of the French choices in this conflict without taking external facts into account. The first factor is inarguably the spectacular German emancipation from its traditional American tutor. Besides, the hyper-publicization of the arm-wrestling between the main states in favor and against the war has valorized the role of France. But the main fact to be taken into consideration is the impressing popular mobilization. Hopefully, promoting citizen-orientated interference will help change future developments.
