Abstract
Inspirited by the social creed, Brazilian Methodists dreamed with a Church where the ministries are based on the peoples´ talents. This dream informed the church on its different levels, including the hymnology of the time. For the new repertory people started to consider the poetic-theological quality of a text, its compatibility with Brazilian culture and reality, and the quality of harmony and rhythm able to be in tune the excellent cultural and musical tradition of Brazil.
