Abstract
The author explores three horizons for engaging the Gospel of Mark in Year B of the Revised Common Lectionary: 1) the lectionary itself, 2) the narrative of the Gospel of Mark and the Greco-Roman world behind it, and 3) the preacher's and congregation's world. Preachers and readers will differ in their emphasis on these three horizons and on the relative weight they give to each of them.Date
