AbstractGrando discusses an online learning framework designed to deliver a new course in infectious disease epidemiology by studying student learning styles. The objectives for the course is for students to be able to understand basic terminology in epidemiology such as prevalence, incidence, herd immunity, morbidity and mortality, and describes modes of transmission and outcomes of infectious diseases. Here, Grando uses the process of action research in teaching and learning to investigate the appropriateness of the initial course design.
