AbstractIn these days, studies and practices about e-Learning have been tried in the Republic of Korea with the explosion of the Web. There has been many types of the Web usage in education, e-Learning, one type of which, has many problems and those problems can be documented and the core of those problems can be categorized as the following areas: 1) the low level of students' participation, 2) the lack of active interactions between learner and learner, learner and teacher, learner and teaching material, and learner and system, 3) insufficiency of feedback to students, etc. This paper is related to design and implementation of an adaptive MS-Agent for facilitating leamer's active participation in e-Learning. The target system has been built based on two major concepts; first, the agent is functioning as a helper and a guider for e-Learning, second, it can give learners an adaptive coaching and feedback while they are in the process of e-Learning. These two concepts can serve for the target system to facilitate learners' participation in e-Learning. The agent in this system is expected to make the learners more interactive on the Web.
