Abstract
This article discusses the following issues: The role of accreditation in education in general and in health professions in particular; the potential of educational accreditation to stimulate continuous improvement in the health professions; and the potential for interdisciplinary curriculum development in health professions education and the challenges this poses for accreditation. The article proposes a set of mock accreditation standards to guide the evaluation of interdisciplinary health professions education. Finally, questions are posed about the role of accreditation in the context of interdisciplinary health professions education.Date
