Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to provide an explanation of how Design Science research has been applied in order to develop a mobile learning framework for the ICT4RED project which is currently in progress in Cofimvaba in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. This is regarded as a complex project and the development of a research framework is essential in order to replicate elsewhere in developing environments with similarities and to scale at a national level. The unique process of developing this ICT4RED mobile learning framework indicates the importance of 12 components which are either regarded as enablers or as drivers for implementation. It is evident that monitoring and evaluation as well as teacher professional development are key to the success of the project and this is also evident from the development of the framework thus far.Due to copyright restrictions, the attached PDF file only contains the abstract of the full text item.
