This paper presents the results of a study that addresses the following question: what are the real possibilities of m-learning (mobile learning) for the development of individual competences and also for collaboration in the organizational setting? The paper analyzes a real experience in m-learning for training IT professionals. For this purpose a mobile virtual learning environment called COMTEXT was developed and implemented, which was designed to support competence development for workers using PocketPCs. The participants of the training activity (13 professionals) evaluated the m-learning experience via a structured questionnaire; all the content and interactions within COMTEXT were analyzed via content analysis. The results generated important insights into the ergonomic, technological and pedagogical possibilities and limitations of mobile and wireless technologies for corporate training and also on methodologies and learning tools that can be applied to m-learning. As an exploratory study, it also indicates issues for further research on m-learning in the organizational context.Date

MULTI-AGENT CO-ORDINATION IN DISTRIBUTED E-LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS: PROVIDING ACCESS PERMISSIONSShantha Visalakshi. U; Shyamala. K (Engg Journals Publications, 2013-04-01)E-Learning, the new technology of supporting education and training, in recent times has been gaining a lot of attention. Content retrieval in e-learning refers the way by which the learning content is provided by means of electronic medium. It is an effective web-based learning paradigm, where many agents can be assigned with unique responsibilities to cope-up with the content retrieval by various users. Agent based system can manage the information stored in the e-learning environment, accessing and granting access permissions. Each task can be carried out by an autonomous agent and various such agents are grouped to form a multi-agent based system. Existing architectures do not consider the enhanced security measures, where it holds security as one among the agents. In the proposed architecture, security is enhanced at the network level and it wraps up all the other agents providing an enhanced security.

An Interactive Web-based Learning System for Assisting Machining Technology EducationMin Jou; Chi-Chia Liu (kassel university press GmbH, 2008-05-01)The key technique of manufacturing methods is machining. The degree of technique of machining directly affects the quality of the product. Therefore, the machining technique is of primary importance in promoting student practice ability during the training process. Currently, practical training is applied in shop floor to discipline student’s practice ability. Much time and cost are used to teach these techniques. Particularly, computerized machines are continuously increasing in use. The development of educating engineers on computerized machines becomes much more difficult than with traditional machines. This is because of the limitation of the extremely expensive cost of teaching. The quality and quantity of teaching cannot always be promoted in this respect. The traditional teaching methods can not respond well to the needs of the future. Therefore, this research aims to the following topics;
 (1).Propose the teaching strategies for the students to learning machining processing planning through web-based learning system.
 (2).Establish on-line teaching material for the computer-aided manufacturing courses including CNC coding method, CNC simulation.
 (3).Develop the virtual machining laboratory to bring the machining practical training to web-based learning system.
 (4).Integrate multi-media and virtual laboratory in the developed e-learning web-based system to enhance the effectiveness of machining education through web-based system.

Easily Integrable Platform for the Deployment of a Remote Laboratory for MicrocontrollersElio San-Cristobal; Manuel Castro; Jonathan Ruiz; Unai Hernandez; Jaime Irurzun; Pablo Orduna; Javier Garcia-Zubia; Ignacio Angulo (kassel university press GmbH, 2010-08-01)Remote laboratories are the natural solution in order to perform real experimentation under e-learning tools. Nevertheless these tools are the result of the research developed by the universities to cover their own needs without having in consideration the deployment of this technology by other institutions. This paper presents a hw prototype for a Remote Lab for microcontrollers that tries to solve these problems contributing new possibilities from the commercial and professional point of view.
