This exercise looks at the UK legal system and how the law is made. Video presentations by experts -Gwyneth Roberts, Alison Brammer and Stuart Vernon- discuss why social workers should concern themselves with the law, what law they should know about, the framework of legal rules, the relationship between the law and social work values and how social workers can influence the law. Transcripts of the presentations can be downloaded along with additional worksheets looking at primary and secondary sources of law, the law and social issues and the inter-relationship between the law and social issues.
