Abstract
This interactive learning object introduces the principles of health and safety in the workplace. It outlines the reasons for which health and safety issues are a primary concern, particularly in term of personal and financial costs. The resource then discusses the responsibilities of individuals and official bodies in relation to these issues, notably: employers; employees; the Health and Safety Commission and Executive; and the local authorities. A gap fill exercise consolidates what students' knowledge, and a multiple choice test assesses what they have learned from the resource.
