AbstractThis paper presents an experience of educational research that was aimed to learn the skills of higher education and graduate teachers for the use of Information and Communication Technologies to support their teaching in a private multicampus northwest university of Mexico. The research was conducted with a quantitative methodology, an electronic questionnaire was applied to 218 teachers of the institution for the collection of information. As a result, we identified several resources that teachers often used that can facilitate the adoption of a virtual campus. However, the demands of the teaching staff to make the change to a virtual courses is clear: training in the production of learning objects, infrastructure, time and support. Finally, part time teachers of were the most willing to be trained and teach online, which presents an institutional challenge to ensure the quality of the courses and monitor the process of developing courses and materials in this mode.
