This Report contains a summary of the results and the contributions to the AROBIKS Workshop. The workshop was held at the Institute for Autonomous intelligent Systems (AiS) of GMD - German National Research Center for Information Technology in Birlinghoven near Bonn from December 14 to 15, 2000. The AROBIKS-V project shall prepare the actual AROBIKS project which is to develop courseware for giving a captivating introduction to engineering and computer science which considers the specific female attitude and approach to learning. The aim is to kindle girls' interest in engineering and computer science in order to increase the percentage of women in engineering professions. The course centers around the design, construction and programming of robots. This learning by doing is to be supported by individual tutoring through teachers and completed by conventional classroom instruction and text material on the one hand and e-learning and web-based background material on the other. AROBIKS-V is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.Date
