Use of internet and awareness of plagiarism among Indian and foreign research scholars in University of Mysore, Mysore: a comparative study

AbstractThe present survey explores the use of internet based electronic resources and search strategy by the foreign and Indian research scholar of University of Mysore, Mysore. Due to rapid advancement in information technology and epublishing large number of information resources are made available to the users all the disciplines. The present study was targeted to Indian and Foreign research scholars of University of Mysore, Mysore to examine the use of internet, place of access to Internet, purpose of use of Internet, awareness about plagiarism, factors of awareness about plagiarism, plagiarism awareness of statements and to trace the awareness about available plagiarism software For this purpose the researcher sprepared a well structured questionnaire as a tool for data collection and the82.14%. Collected questionnaire has been analyzed and presented with useful percentage analysis and suitable statistical techniques tables for presentation of the data. This article concluded with major findings of the study and suggestion for improvement
