E-books or P-books: Pre-service teachers’ Preferences in Early Childhood Education

Children’s electronic picture books (e-books) are becoming more popular recently. The purpose of this study is to explore pre-service teachers’ beliefs about using e-books as a teaching tool in the classroom. Additionally, this study aim to examine pre-service teachers’ preferences for using e-books on computer and/or multiple devices. Ninety-four pre-service teachers participated in this study. Results show that pre-service teachers in early childhood education generally supports the use of e-books. The participants also expressed their preferences of using e-books or printed book (p-book) and their preferences of using e-books either on computer and/or multiple devises as a teaching tool in the classroom.Date
