Intellectual Disability Pupil’s Perception about Using Technology within Special Education School in Sultanate of Oman

Actually, technology is more and more used among education area. In Middle East, research on technology in relation to disability is rare. This research aimed to investigate the perspective of pupils with intellectual disability (ID) about the access to and use of technology. Thus, the researcher conducted interviews with 17 pupils, based on: background, education, interests, access and use of technology. Results revealed that there is difference between male and female concerning using of technology. Male’s using is focused on: playing video games, playing in the phone, listen to Coran. Female’s using is focused on: watching TV, watching movies in PC, study Coran. Female’s agreed that video games are more suitable for male. There was also consensus between pupils that the best class is the computer one where they play and rarely learn. Finally, the study sample agreed on the need to convince parents and teachers to let them more playing and learning using the technology.Date
