The purpose of our presentation is to share best practices from the Chelsea High School as we transition to a Paperless High School. In August 2015, we decided as a school to implement a variety of paperless activities across the curriculum. Our motivation was simple - this is what is best for students. Specifically, we believe this paradigm shift will help students become more electronically proficient and help them be College and Career ready. We will share information from a survey which collected opinions from parents, students, and teachers regarding expectations and the use of technology such as smartphones. Afterwards, we developed a plan for teachers to implement new strategies and techniques for the classroom. We introduced new training to aid the shift. We have experienced some success an difficulties changing the mindset. We hope our presentation will assist other secondary schools with plans to improve their electronic proficiency.Date
