Based on the social identity theory the current study investigates whether the perception of corporate citizenship through the employee can function as a predictor of organizational commitment. In this context organizational commitment is seen as a multidimensional construct and is distinguished between affective, normative and continuance commitment. The study is conducted in an austrian bank (Western Union) via online questionnaire. 116 employees between 22 and 56 years participated in the study. To check the assumptions regression analyzes were used. The results are consistent with previous findings regarding the relationship between the perception of corporate citizenship and organizational commitment. The perception of corporate citizenship can explain 64% of organizational commitment and 64%, 68% and 24% of the unique variance of affective, normative and continuance commitment.
