OBJETIVOS DE DESENVOLVIMENTO SUSTENTÁVEL E IMPLICAÇÕES NO ENSINO SUPERIOR: APLICAÇÃO A UMA INSTITUIÇÃO DE ENSINO SUPERIOR DE CIÊNCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS

Abstract

A primeira década do século XXI é rica na produção de documentos orientadores, em particular emanados das Nações Unidas, para uma educação mais responsável a sintonizada com os desafios do novo milénio. Destes documentos, destacamos duas ideias centrais: um claro reforço e comprometimento com a obrigatoriedade de se pensarem novos modelos de atuação que garantam um Desenvolvimento Sustentável e a sensibilização para o facto do Ensino Superior ser um espaço privilegiado para uma atuação que promova a tomada de consciência das novas prioridades, a assumir pelos futuros líderes para garantir esse mesmo Desenvolvimento. A partir da reflexão “Desafios e Oportunidades para a comunicação das organizações nos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável” (Fernandes, 2018), é objetivo deste artigo analisar as implicações específicas que esses documentos podem ter ao nível do Ensino Superior. Ao mesmo tempo, enunciam-se as bases de um projeto-piloto a implementar na Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra (ano letivo de 2018/19) que visa a aplicação de novas estratégias de aprendizagem para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável, a partir de uma reflexão em torno dos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (da ONU e a cumprir entre 2016/30). A metodologia utilizada para a preparação do estudo-piloto, que aqui se apresenta, recorreu à análise de conteúdo do descritivo do perfil de saída dos alunos dos cursos da ESEC/IPC, disponível no site da ESEC, procurando traduzi-lo em termos de liderança exercida por esses mesmos profissionais. Para a construção do estudo-piloto foi ainda utilizada a metodologia do questionário online para apuramento de quais os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável mais abordados nos cursos do mesmo estabelecimento de ensino, traçando assim uma Agenda própria de áreas de intervenção prioritária.

The first decade of the twenty-first century is rich in the production of guidance documents, in particular emanating from the United Nations, for a more responsible education attuned to the challenges of the new millennium. Beyond these documents, we highlight two central ideas: a clear reinforcement and commitment with the obligation to think about new models of action that guarantee a Sustainable Development and the awareness that Higher Education is a privileged space for an action that promotes the awareness of the new priorities, to be assumed by the future leaders to guarantee this same Development. From the reflection presented at "Challenges and Opportunities for the communication of the organizations in the Sustainable Development Goals" (Fernandes, 2018), this article is now analyzing the specific implications that these documents can have at the level of Higher Education. At the same time, the basis of a pilot study to be implemented at the School of Education of the Coimbra Polytechnic Institute (2018/19) is set out to apply new learning strategies for Sustainable Development, starting from of a reflection on the Sustainable Development Goals (of the UN and to be fulfilled between 2016/30). The methodology used for the preparation of the pilot study, presented here, is the content analysis of the descriptive of the professional profile of the alumni of the ESEC / IPC degrees, available on the ESEC website, seeking to translate it in terms of leadership exercised by these same professionals. For the construction of the pilot study, the methodology of the online questionnaire was also used to determine which Sustainable Development Goals are most addressed to each degree, thus outlining a specific Agenda for priority areas of intervention.
