AbstractThe work is focused on the issues of motivation and performance appraisal of employees in a company. Since the human factor is the most important source for an enterprise, it´s needful to care for employees properly. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains basic terms and figures with respective definitions by various authors. The practical part analyzes TNT Express, an international courier delivery services company. By the help of questionnaire survey and analysis of the corporate documentation it was founded how the company cares for employees and what working environment is provided. Questionnaire survey includes employees working at the Prague branch, except of the top management. Respondents are dividend into two Gross with respect to their age and the study highlights the differences in motivation and demotivation factors of different age groups. The final part brings some suggestions leading to the higher motivation and performance of workers and the improved quality of working conditions.
