AbstractThis thesis deals with Chinese transition from autarky to an open economy that reduces trade barriers. It desribes all three levels of liberalization of economic relations in which China has gradually been involved. First chapter focuses on domestic reforms that took place after the year 1978, on setting up of special economic zones and on lowering of tariff and non-tariff trade barriers. Second chapter contains information about Chinese commitments to WTO and shows the impact of China's accession to WTO on Chinese economy and on other countries. The last chapter covers Chinese motives for its concluding of bilateral and multilateral agreements on regional level and their results, negotiated and considered agreements being also outlined.
