In order to find the essentiality of the proteinu r i a in nephroptosis patients, I studied the appearance ratio of orthostatic proteinuria, urine protein volume and the nature of the urine and proteinuria of 77 nephroptosis patients. As a control 65 persons with normal kidneys were examined likewise. The results were as follows 1) The appearance ratio of orthostatic proteinuria. was 7.7 % in normal persons and was as high as 37.7% in nephroptosis patients. 2) The appearance ratio of orthost a tic proteinuria was rather high in males but the protein volume was larger in females. 3) The appearance ratio o f orthostatic proteinuria is larger in young persons but the volume has no relation with the age. 4) The appearance ratio of o rthostatic proteinuria is larger in the bilateral nephroptosis patients compared with the unilateral patients, but the volume of the protein has no relation with the bad side. 5) As the renal descen d ing ratio increases the appearance ratio of orthostatic proteinuria increases as Professor Minami says, but the urine protein volume does not parallel with this. 6) In the upright posture X-ray findings, even if torsion of the renal pedicle, kink of the ureter or distention of the renal pelvis is seen, appearance ratio of orthostatic proteinuria dose not increase especially. Also the protein excretion volume does not increase in this condition. 7) Compared to the upright posture, the lordotic posture has a higher appearance ratio of orthostatic proteinuria and protein excretion volume. 8) In the upright posture the oliguria, urinary sp e cific gravity increase and the urine pH decrease does not have any relation with the proteinuria appearance. 9) In the upright posture the salt crystals in the urine and urinary epithelia does not have any constant relation with the proteinuria. 10) There is no direct connection b e t ween the red cells in the urine and orthostatic Proteinuria.Date
