Abstract
~Today it is difficult to date the materials of the wall, as the same construction technique was always used along the centuries. The only exception is the northern casements constructed in the Late Antiquity, between the 4th and 6th centuries. The Muslims built new fortifications and a castle to protect the town from rival Muslim and Christian states.
