Mohammed Arkoun is one of the Muslim thinkers who suggested the need for a new methodology in the interpretation of the Quran to include the discipline of semiotics, sociology, philosophy, anthropology, and history. With rich discipline it will bring forth a richer meaning. This is where the Koran should be presented to the Muslim that gave birth to the awareness of the past history and the present. Thus Arkoun has enriched the meaning of the Qur’an so that its meaning is relevant to modern times jarring. This paper highlights the role and thoughts of Arkoun about theories of interpretation of the Qur’an. Thought Arkoun in the interpretation of the Qur’an is considered beyond the boundaries of traditional studies and, therefore, his thought is very good for the study of contemporary interpretation.indWith permission of the license/copyright holderhistoryanthropologyphilosophysociologyMohammed ArkounInterpretation of the QuranCultural ethicsMedia/communication/information ethicsReligious ethicsSpirituality and ethicsMethods of ethicsTheological ethicsPhilosophical ethicsSinergi antara Pembacaan Teks dan Wacana dalam Metodologi Penafsiran Mohammed ArkounJournal volume
