Este artículo pretende descifrar las raíces históricas, el lenguaje bioético y las implicaciones político-sociales de este paradigma, que cuestiona la dignidad esencial de toda vida humana en benefi cio de «nuevos derechos» construidos ex professo. Para ello expone tres dimensiones analíticas de sus «posibilidades históricas» (retrospectiva, perspectiva y prospectiva), tomando como ejemplo el papel de la Política social contemporánea, y en especial, las paradojas doctrinales e institucionales del «Estado del Bienestar» en España" ["The social eugenics is the real face of the biomedical application of an ideological paradigm, self-styled like «progressive», that claims the radical transformation of the western society from laicist and utilitarians positions.
